You might have seen the promos for DELL's new model called Vostro, do you want to buy one? If you want to buy one then you might want to know the cons of a vostro machine?

You might have seen the promos for DELL’s new model called Vostro, do you want to buy one? If you want to buy one then you might want to know the cons of a vostro machine? The Vostro computers are cheap and have a better look compare to inspirion but there are few issues to be fixed.

    Problems:
  • Grainy screen problem wide screens
    Ans: Don’t know yet, many of the inspiron models had this issue and we expect the screen manufacturer might have solved this problem by this time. At the worst send your screen back to dell.
  • Boot up problems
    There are complains on boot up while trying to install other operating systems or a video driver.
    Ans: Try to reinstall it repeatedly until you see the expected screen. There are couples of driver installation issues so better you reboot and see if it works. If not, then try to reinstall the driver once again.
  • XP installation errors over Vista OS machines
    Ans: There are lots of complains against it, dell lunched Vostro with Vista and user had no choice other than installing a XP OS over Vostro machine as they never liked the Vista. Make sure you have a backup for all your drivers, check your package if it has a cd with all your software’s or else you can download it from dell’s web site. Don’t forget to save your data externally and format the drive while installing the operating system. You can follow these steps to make a clean xp installation.
  • Vostro Overheating
    Ans: Yes, this is still noticed with vostro laptops. This gets really hot when used on the lap so better not use it on your lap.
  • It’s Heavier
    Ans: No answer to it, you can not fix this problem as long as dell changes something at hardware level.
