Identity not in Sync While Exporting Data from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005 Database

I have a database in sql server 2005 generated on the top of sql server 2000 database script. Now I am trying to export data from 2000 to 2005 database but data is not in sync due to the identity problem in sql server 2005 database. What are the majors one should take to sync both the database while exporting or importing from sql server 2000 to 2005 or the other way.
